Big 2024 Project in the Works!

I know, I know…I have been silent for most of January and then I pop out of nowhere with an ambitious headline…

I am working on a long term project that will likely take more than one year to complete, but a large portion of it CAN be completed before the end of the year.

One thing I’ve wanted to do this year is focus on skills I have developed in the past that I haven’t put to use in many years. This includes stuff like composing music and…game development!

That’s right - I am making a video game this year! It’s nothing fancy - just a 2D Platformer game. It has pastry-themed characters, some of which will be very familiar to all of you lovely fans and followers.

If you are following me on Instagram or TikTok then you will be seeing regular progress updates posted on both of these platforms (I’m aiming for weekly updates).

I am currently in the early stages of creating art assets and sprite sheets and whatnot so it will be a while before you see any gameplay footage, but I will still be posting regular updates online for accountability’s sake.

I am very excited to be working on this project! I can’t wait to share all my progress with each and every one of you!

2024 Convention Schedule!!!

Here’s a list of my CONFIRMED shows for this year:

Belleville Comicon - Sunday March 10 - Fairfield Inn - 407 North Front Street, Belleville, Ontario

Kingston Comicon - Saturday April 13 - Royal Canadian Legion #560 - 734 Montreal Street, Kingston, Ontario

Napanee Comicon - Saturday April 20 - Strathcona Paper Centre - 16 McPherson Drive, Napanee, Ontario

Markham Comicon - Saturday April 27 - Thornhill Community Centre - 7755 Bayview Avenue, Thornhill, Ontario

Cobourg Comicon - Saturday May 18 - Cobourg Community Centre - 750 D’Arcy Street, Cobourg, Ontario

Pretty Heroes - Saturday July 27 + Sunday July 28 - Japanese Canadian Cultural Centre - 6 Sakura Way, Toronto, Ontario

Anime North UPDATE: I am on the waitlist for the secondary tables. Bri from Chubcats is higher up on the waitlist than I am, so if she gets picked we will be sharing a table together. This is still a big “if” but it’s better than not getting picked at all!

Also, I am sorry to say that I will not be attending Fan Expo this year, as the table fees are too steep, even if I were to share a table with someone for that weekend. Apologies to any of my followers who were hoping to see me at this event.

The convention list is short this year as I have other non-art related stuff I’ll be needing to sort out by July-ish of this year, so I am not entirely sure how that will affect my schedule moving forward. You can always support me on Etsy if you are unable to make it to one of my shows!

***Etsy Shop Update***

I now have a “Clearances and Bundles” section in my Etsy shop!

This section contains special bundles, mystery bags, and other combo packages/value packs of the merch I have been selling in-person at conventions over the past few years.

Click here to check out the current available value packs! Take into account that there are limited quantities of these clearance bundles as they are a combination of older merch or items that are close to selling out, so you’ll need to act fast if something piques your interest!

This new section in my Etsy shop gives you an opportunity to purchase some of your favourite items at special discounted rates, as well as giving me the opportunity to free up storage space in my apartment for new merch for any upcoming shows for 2024.

Please note that free shipping is only available to items being shipped within Canada when you’re making your purchases!

I kindly ask that you share my Etsy shop with others, even if you yourself are not fond of the items I have to offer - Even if you’re not interested, I’m sure you know somebody who would enjoy something from my shop! It’s free to share a link, and sharing that link is still a small gesture of support that is greatly appreciated!

Some good, light-hearted fun!

“That will never sell!”

I see this as a challenge!

My bakery boss at my day job recently inspired me to create another original character - Boss-Ton Cream Donut!

Whereas Bitchy Croissant encompasses all the snarky and grumpy stuff my bakery boss says/does, Boss-Ton Cream Donut shows off the sweet, positive, and playful side of the aforementioned inspiration.

I created an animation of Boss-Ton Cream Donut dancing to beatboxing vocals (that I tried to mix into a half-decent background track). The recorded vocals are of the bakery boss himself! I was going to show off the final mixed track and animation to the bakery boss during his workplace birthday cake but those plans didn’t quite happen as intended unfortunately. The bakery boss did see a work-in-progress mind you, and his immediate reaction was pure shock. Once he processed the masterpiece he just witnessed, he commented, “Are you going to sell that? That will never sell!”

So…the video is below. Please watch, like, share, comment, and do ALL those fun things so I can prove him wrong!
