An Artist Turning Everyday Reality into Unreal Creations
It’s apparently a faux pas to be a “Jack of all trades” in the modern day creative world, but Mandy is proud to stand by that sentiment.
Mandy’s creativity has been with her since childhood. She has loved art from a very early age, and has also had a huge interest in music since childhood. Admittedly, Mandy leaned more heavily towards pursuing music throughout her childhood and teenage years. She wanted to be a rock star after all!
As Mandy grew older and faced a few hiccups long the way with continuing her pursuit in music, she slowly went back into pursuing visual art as a hobby. Mandy’s focus with art shifted from the abstract work of her early years into something she considers to be more technical - creating unique original characters. Mandy does create fan art on occasion, but her passion lies with her original work. She likes to see the smiles (and sometimes confusion) that her original characters puts on people’s faces.
“I’m happy if my artwork leaves an impact on someone. I don’t want to be famous myself - I want my characters to have their time to shine all on their own.”
Mandy has also dabbled (and failed) at pursuing game development. She liked the idea of combining her musical skills with her ability to create unique and interesting characters in their own little world where others can interact and be fully immersed with her creations. Unfortunately, programming and coding proved to be too much of a hassle for Mandy. She did however take away some knowledge on the principles of animation during her pursuits in game development and will be fully utilizing those skills in the near future.
As for the game development side of things - it’s not completely a dead issue. It’s a pursuit for future Mandy!
